Trip to the penguins - Sept 2012

Whilst in Cape Town, and a rain afternoon, Charlise, Tarryn and myself decided to take a drive to Simon's Town to go to the Toy Museum (which was closed - early) and then to visit the penguins at Boulders Beach.

Well we arrived (Charlise on crutches) and took a walk down the board walk and found the males all together, and then further on a male penguin - stading over his "woman" - guarding any other male from getting near.

The great thing was that it was close to "going home" and the males were all coming back from the sea and on their way to their resting place for the night.

We stood watching these awesome birds - as they climbed on top of a large boulder and then had to slide down the other side to get to their resting places. Took some great pictures and videos on the cell phone.

Afterwards we went to the Boulders Beach Lodge and had a great early dinner - great service, location and tasty food.

Boulders is a great place to go watch the penguins - for young and old!! So great that SANParks protects them!!
